FAQ

How does Black Teachers Travel choose travel destinations?

Earlier this year, we asked educators from across the nation to list their top destination.  We then used this information to plan our travel destinations.

Where are we staying?

As we plan for the most cost effective trip, lodging will depend on the trip destination.

What is included in my payment?

- Accommodations
- Entry to sponsored events
- Transportation to/from sponsored events
- Liquor & Food, at select events

Can I get a refund if I decide not to attend the trip?

Our trips are non-refundable.

After I register for a trip, what should I expect?

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email, the monthly payment due date schedule, a trip itinerary, and a roommate preference form.

How do I choose my roommate(s)?

When you register for the trip, please email cheria@blackteacherstravel.com if you have a roommate preference.  If you are a solo traveler, no worries!  We are all educators and we will match you with the perfect roommate!  Prior to the trip, we will send out a logistics email that asks people to fill out a Roommate Preference Form.  The form will ask you to list anyone you know who is attending the trip, about your current city and career, and ask a few roommate preference questions.  All of this information will allow us to match you with the perfect roommate!

Can I book a single room?

Yes, you can ask for a single room.  Please note there will be a significant increase in your total package price.  If you would like a single room, please email cheria@blackteacherstravel.com

How does the payment schedule work?

You are allowed to submit full payment.  However,  to make sure the trip is cost effective, we have designed a payment schedule.  You will be asked to pay a non-refundable deposit to secure your seat and pay remaining installments on the designated day each month.  You will then receive an invoice for the 1st installment which will be exactly one month from the day you pay the deposit.  The day you pay the deposit will be the same day the reoccurring payments will process each month.  There will be no payment extensions.

What do I need?

For domestic travel, you will need a valid ID that is not expired.  For international travel, you will need a valid US Passport that does not expire within 6 months after departure date.
